Turkey e-Visa (DETAILS YOU NEED TO KNOW)

Turkey e-Visa
e-Visa is an official document permitting entry into and travel within Turkey. The e-Visa is an alternative to visas issued at Turkish missions and at the ports of entry.

Applicants obtain their visas electronically after entering required information and making payments by a credit or debit card (Mastercard, Visa or UnionPay).


NOTE: The e-Visa is only valid when the purpose of travel is tourism or commerce. For other purposes, such as work and study, visas are given by Turkish Embassies or Consulates

As in the case of other visas, respective Turkish officials at the ports of entry reserves the right to deny entry into Turkey to a holder of an e-Visa without any explanation.


Advantages of e-Visa
An e-Visa can be obtained easily anywhere with an internet connection and it saves time that you would otherwise spend on visa applications at Turkish missions or at the ports of entry into Turkey (if you are eligible).


Requirement for e-Visa application
  • Travelling for the purposes of tourism or business.
  • A passport valid for at least 6 months from the date you intend to enter Turkey.
  • A valid Supporting Document (Valid visa OR valid residence permit from one of the Schengen Countries, USA, UK or Ireland). E-visas are not accepted as supporting documents.
  • A round-trip ticket with Turkish Airlines, Pegasus Airlines or Onur Air.Hold a return ticket, hotel reservation and at least 50 $ per each day of stay in Turkey.


e-Visa Fee
e-Visa fee varies according to country of travel document and type of travel document (between $15 and $60).

Click “Apply” button on the e-Visa homepage and select your country of travel document to find out the e-Visa fee that you are required to pay


How to Apply

Step 1 – Go to www.evisa.gov.tr/en/

Step 2 – Click ‘Apply Now’. Select the country and the passport or identity card you are using. Type in the displayed letters and/or numbers given. Then click on ‘Save and Continue’

Step 3 – Fill in your intended arrival date. You will then get some information: length of the validity of your visa, when you can enter the country once or multiple times during this period, how much it will cost you, and how you will pay, Press ‘Save and Continue’ to continue or close your browser

Step 4 – Fill in your personal data. All fields are obligatory. Press the button at the bottom to continue.

Step 5 – Once stage 4 is done, all data has been accepted and you are good to go. You can review the information you have provided. Click Edit if you want to change anything, ‘Verify’ to submit and continue.

Step 6 – After the 5th stage, your application has been submitted, and an email will be sent to you to verify whether you really applied. Check your email. If you didn’t receive the mail in a minute, check your spam folder.

Click the approve button to verify your email address.

Step 7 – After clicking the verify email button, the payment page will come up. Fill in the necessary information, and proceed by clicking ‘Make Payment’.

Step 8 – Once payment has been approved, you’ll be notified that your e-Visa has been sent to you. This is usually not the case. You only received an email with a button to download it. Don’t wait for it, download the visa (in pdf format) straight from that page. Save it on your computer because you will print it out.

If you are going for business and you need an invoice, download the visa, then press the invoice button.

Step 9 – Open the saved/downloaded pdf document and print it and keep the document and your passport or identity card during your stay.
